4A or 4B — which do you need?
The 4th Class certificate is two separate papers. Most candidates write Part A first, but you can prepare for them in any order your regulator allows.
Part A (4A) — this page
Fundamentals: mechanics, thermodynamics, governance, safety, materials, fluids, electrical, controls, and an introduction to boilers. 584 questions.
Part B (4B)
Applied plant operation: pumps, compressors, boiler operation, water treatment, prime movers, refrigeration, and HVAC. 778 questions.
Writing both? The 4th Class bundle covers Part A and Part B together.
