Last updated: June 2026
1. About SteamTicket
SteamTicket ("we", "us", "our") is an independent study tool for Canadian power engineering certification exam preparation. It is operated as a Canadian sole proprietorship. Our registered business email is support@steamticket.ca.
SteamTicket is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to SOPEEC, ABSA (Alberta Boilers Safety Association), Technical Safety BC (TSBC), the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), or PanGlobal Publishing. Use of regulatory or syllabus names is for descriptive purposes only.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or purchasing from SteamTicket you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these terms at any time; continued use after notice of changes constitutes acceptance.
3. Licence to Use
Upon completing a purchase you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the purchased course bank for your own non-commercial study purposes. You may not:
- Share, resell, redistribute, or sublicence access to any course content;
- Reproduce, copy, scrape, or extract questions or explanations in bulk for any purpose;
- Use automated tools to access or extract content from the platform.
4. Payments and Merchant of Record
All payments are processed by Paddle.com, who acts as the merchant of record for SteamTicket. Paddle is responsible for collecting and remitting applicable taxes, including Canadian GST/HST. When you purchase from SteamTicket you are purchasing from Paddle, and Paddle's own terms and privacy policy also apply to your transaction.
Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless stated otherwise. One-time purchases grant lifetime access for the duration the service is offered.
5. Refunds
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. See our Refund Policy for full details. Refund requests are processed via Paddle.
6. Content Accuracy
SteamTicket content is written to publicly available SOPEEC/ABSA syllabus references and is intended as exam preparation material. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not guarantee that any question, explanation, or provincial information is error-free or current. Province certification requirements change — always verify requirements with your provincial or territorial regulator before applying for certification.
Passing SteamTicket mock exams does not guarantee passing the official SOPEEC examination.
7. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that show evidence of sharing or abuse.
8. Intellectual Property
All question content, explanations, and platform code are original works owned by SteamTicket. Regulatory syllabus titles and examination format details are referenced for descriptive accuracy and constitute fair dealing under the Copyright Act (Canada).
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SteamTicket's total liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which SteamTicket is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
