1. About SteamTicket
SteamTicket ("SteamTicket", "we", "us", or "our") is an independent digital study tool for Canadian power-engineering certification exam preparation. It provides practice question banks, mock exams, and explanations for study purposes only. SteamTicket is operated as a Canadian sole proprietorship by Nicolas Hesson, with a business address at 8053 Sorensen Road, Kimberley, BC. Our support email is support@steamticket.ca.
SteamTicket is not a certifying body and does not issue power-engineering tickets, certificates, licences, or examination results. SteamTicket is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to SOPEEC, ABSA, Technical Safety BC, the Technical Standards and Safety Authority, PanGlobal, or any provincial or territorial regulator. Names of exams, regulators, syllabi, and textbooks are used only to identify the subject matter of the study materials.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms govern your use of the SteamTicket website, web app, accounts, course access, study materials, and related support. By creating an account, clicking or pressing a button that indicates acceptance, completing a purchase through checkout, or using a purchased course, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Refund Policy, and any checkout terms shown to you by Paddle. If you do not agree, do not create an account, purchase, or use SteamTicket.
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a consumer contract in your province or territory. SteamTicket is intended for adults preparing for work-related certification exams and is not directed to children.
3. Review Before Purchase
Before you pay, the checkout flow should give you a reasonable opportunity to review the product, price, currency, applicable taxes or fees, payment method, delivery or access method, refund and cancellation information, and these Terms. You should also have an opportunity to correct input errors and to accept or decline the purchase before it becomes final. After purchase, you should receive a receipt or confirmation by email or another durable electronic format. If you do not receive a purchase confirmation or course access within a reasonable time, contact support@steamticket.ca.
To support provincial internet-sales requirements, the supplier details for SteamTicket are: legal name Nicolas Hesson, business address 8053 Sorensen Road, Kimberley, BC, and support email support@steamticket.ca. Paddle's merchant-of-record details are provided in Paddle's checkout, receipt, and buyer terms.
4. The Product
SteamTicket is a study aid. It is not professional, legal, regulatory, employment, safety, or educational-accreditation advice. We make reasonable efforts to keep the materials useful and aligned with public exam objectives, but exam requirements, regulator policies, and published syllabi can change. You are responsible for confirming current examination, eligibility, textbook, and certification requirements with the official regulator or examination body that applies to you.
Using SteamTicket, completing practice questions, or passing a SteamTicket mock exam does not guarantee that you will pass an official examination or receive a ticket, certificate, licence, job, raise, or promotion.
5. Purchases, Paddle, and Taxes
Payments are handled by Paddle, which acts as merchant of record and authorised reseller for digital products sold through its checkout. In practical terms, you buy through Paddle's checkout, Paddle charges your payment method, Paddle may appear on your statement or receipt, and Paddle is responsible for calculating, collecting, and remitting applicable transaction taxes where required. Paddle's buyer terms, privacy policy, and refund policy also apply to your transaction.
SteamTicket remains responsible for making the purchased study access available to you, providing the app and study materials under these Terms, and supporting your account. Paddle sends us limited order information, such as your name, email, country, purchased product, order or transaction ID, and refund status, so we can provide access and support. We do not receive your full payment card number.
Prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless the checkout page says otherwise. Taxes and any required fees should be shown at checkout or on your receipt. Tax treatment can depend on Paddle's role, your location, and the law in force at the time of purchase.
6. One-Time Purchase and "Lifetime" Access
SteamTicket currently sells one-time purchases and does not currently offer recurring subscriptions. A one-time purchase gives you access to the purchased course or bundle for as long as SteamTicket continues to offer and support that course or service, subject to these Terms, our Refund Policy, and applicable law. "Lifetime" access does not mean access for your personal lifetime and does not guarantee that SteamTicket, a course, a domain, a hosting provider, or a specific feature will operate forever.
If we materially discontinue a paid course or the service, we will try to give reasonable notice where practical. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable refund, cancellation, or other rights you may have under consumer-protection law.
7. Licence to Use SteamTicket
After a valid purchase, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the purchased SteamTicket materials for your own non-commercial study purposes. You do not receive ownership of the question banks, explanations, software, interface, code, database, design, or other SteamTicket materials.
You must not share, sell, sublicense, rent, publish, repost, upload, copy in bulk, scrape, extract, reverse engineer, bypass technical protection measures, use automated tools to access the service, build a competing question bank from SteamTicket content, train an artificial-intelligence system on SteamTicket content, or use SteamTicket materials for commercial tutoring, classroom, institutional, or resale purposes unless we agree in writing.
8. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Do not share your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe an account is being shared, abused, used to infringe rights, used to attack the service, or used in a way that risks harm to SteamTicket, other users, Paddle, our service providers, or third parties.
9. Refunds and Cancellation Rights
SteamTicket offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for eligible purchases. The details are in our Refund Policy. Refunds are handled through Paddle because Paddle is the merchant of record. When a refund is issued, access to the refunded course or bundle may be revoked.
Our voluntary guarantee is in addition to, and does not limit, any non-waivable cancellation, refund, chargeback, or other rights you may have under the laws of your province or territory, under Paddle's buyer terms, or under Paddle's refund policy.
10. Privacy and Electronic Messages
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information. By using SteamTicket, you acknowledge that the service uses local storage in your browser, authentication tokens, service providers, and limited transactional messages needed to provide the service.
We send transactional electronic messages, such as purchase, access, password reset, security, account, and support messages. We do not send marketing emails unless you have given express consent where required. If we later offer marketing emails, those messages will identify the sender and include an unsubscribe mechanism as required by law.
11. Intellectual Property and Third-Party Names
Except for third-party names, marks, publicly referenced exam or syllabus titles, and any other third-party materials, the SteamTicket platform, user interface, software, question text, explanations, mock exams, database structure, graphics, and other materials are owned by or licensed to SteamTicket.
SteamTicket materials are intended to be independently authored study materials based on publicly available exam objectives, public regulator information, and original explanation work. SteamTicket does not claim ownership of any regulator name, exam name, syllabus title, textbook title, publisher name, or third-party trademark. Those names belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the exam or subject matter for which the materials are designed.
You must not remove ownership notices, misrepresent SteamTicket materials as official regulator or publisher materials, or use SteamTicket content in a way that infringes intellectual-property rights. If you believe any SteamTicket material raises an intellectual-property concern, contact support@steamticket.ca so we can review it.
12. Accuracy, Updates, and Availability
We may correct, add, remove, reorganise, or update questions, explanations, course structure, features, and technical systems over time. We may also perform maintenance, address security issues, or change service providers. We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free content, or compatibility with every device, browser, network, employer firewall, or assistive technology.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SteamTicket is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties, conditions, guarantees, or representations of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. This includes implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, or exam success.
Some consumer-protection laws do not allow certain warranties, conditions, or remedies to be excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under laws that cannot be waived by contract.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SteamTicket's total liability for any claim arising from or relating to the service, a course, these Terms, or your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the SteamTicket product giving rise to the claim. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SteamTicket is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost income, lost opportunity, lost data, exam failure, employment consequences, or regulatory consequences.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so is not allowed by law, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or non-waivable statutory consumer rights.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version date will be shown above. For minor or administrative changes, posting the updated Terms may be sufficient. For material changes that materially reduce your rights, materially increase your obligations, or materially affect existing paid access, we will provide reasonable notice and, where required by law or good contracting practice, ask for affirmative acceptance before the change applies to existing paid access.
New purchases are governed by the Terms presented or linked at the time of purchase. If you do not agree to a material change affecting existing paid access, contact support@steamticket.ca so we can review your options.
16. Governing Law and Consumer Rights
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, subject to any non-waivable rights, remedies, jurisdiction rules, or venue rules that apply to you as a consumer in your province or territory of residence.
If a part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Paddle checkout terms, and any product-specific terms shown at checkout, form the agreement that applies to your use of SteamTicket and your purchased access.
