No. SteamTicket is a completely independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, licensed by, or connected in any way to SOPEEC, ABSA (Alberta Boilers Safety Association), Technical Safety BC, TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority), or PanGlobal. All questions are original content written to the publicly available ABSA/SOPEEC syllabi for 5th through 1st Class. No copyrighted textbook content is reproduced.

SteamTicket is built around the SOPEEC exam standard, used for power engineer certification across most of Canada's provinces and territories — including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Northwest Territories, and Yukon. Two jurisdictions are exceptions: Quebec administers its own MMF (mécanicien de machines fixes) system, and Nunavut runs its own Chief Inspector examinations rather than the standardized SOPEEC papers (though it follows the same 5th-to-1st-Class ladder). Our content targets the SOPEEC standard and is not aligned to Quebec's MMF exams or Nunavut's territorial examinations. See the province pages for jurisdiction-specific details.

SOPEEC 4th Class consists of two independent papers: Part A (4A) and Part B (4B). Each paper is 100 multiple-choice questions with a 3-hour time limit. The pass mark is 65% on each paper independently — passing one paper does not give credit toward the other. SteamTicket's mock exams match this format exactly: 100 questions, timed, with a score report at the end.

The SMART Quiz is a deterministic, results-driven study engine — not AI. Every session is built from your own answer history stored locally on your device. Units where your running score is below 70% appear more often, with incorrectly answered questions re-asked at increasing intervals. Units where you consistently score above 70% get lighter review treatment. There is no randomness: the same history always produces the same session order, so your progress is predictable and reproducible. Your data stays on your device and syncs to your account when you log in.

SteamTicket covers five SOPEEC classes with 5,443 original exam-style questions in total. By class: 5th Class 468 questions; 4th Class 1,362 (Part A 584 + Part B 778); 3rd Class 1,599 (Part A 791 + Part B 808); 2nd Class 1,401 (Part A 668 + Part B 733); and 1st Class 613 (Part B). Each part comes with full explanations.

No. SteamTicket questions are original, written to the public ABSA/SOPEEC syllabus objectives. They are designed as exam-style practice, not copies of secured or real exam papers, and we do not claim they are nearly identical to any specific exam.

You pay once and have access for as long as SteamTicket exists. There are no subscription fees or renewal charges. If we add questions or update the bank for the course you purchased, you get the updates automatically at no extra cost.

Yes. The web app is fully responsive and works offline once loaded. Your progress is stored on-device first and synced to your account when you reconnect. This means you can study on a job site or in a plant without Wi-Fi.

SteamTicket is a web app — it runs in any modern browser on desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. No app to download or install. It works on iOS Safari, Chrome on Android, and all major desktop browsers.
