PanGlobal has wound down — here’s what it means for your exam
If you’ve heard that PanGlobal closed and you’re mid-study, here are the plain facts: what changed, what didn’t, and how to keep preparing.
The status, in plain terms
- PanGlobal Training Systems announced on 6 March 2025 that it would wind down operations.
- PG Focus subscriptions and non-institutional access ended 31 May 2025.
- PanGlobal concluded operations on 5 November 2025 and no longer offers products or services.
Wind-down announcement and PG Focus end date: Institute of Power Engineers notice. The 5 November 2025 conclusion is per the closure notice published by PanGlobal. Last verified 14 June 2026 — confirm the latest status with the providers.
What hasn’t changed
Your exam. Provincial regulators still administer the same SOPEEC power engineering exams. The 100-question / 3-hour / 65% format is unchanged for 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd Class. Seven First Class papers remain long-answer; paper 1B4 became 100 MCQ / 3 hours on January 1, 2026. Confirm the current paper structure with your regulator. So the goal is the same; only your study materials need a new source. Last verified 19 July 2026.
What candidates are asking
“Are my old books still valid?”
The exam standard is set by your regulator, not by a publisher. Older materials may still cover relevant theory, but only your regulator can tell you what’s current. Verify before you rely on anything.
“Where do I practise now?”
You need an independent question bank built for the current format. SteamTicket is one option — original, syllabus-mapped questions with worked explanations and exam-format mocks.
An independent way to keep practising
SteamTicket is an independent replacement for candidates who used PanGlobal or PG Focus. The questions are original — written objective-by-objective to the public ABSA/SOPEEC syllabus, not copied from any textbook or secured exam. We did not acquire, copy, or reproduce any PanGlobal or PG Focus content.

Practical Skills Record Books
Separately from textbooks and PG Focus, the IPE now sells Practical Skills Record Books for 3rd/4th/5th Class that PanGlobal used to publish. See nipe.ca — New Practical Skills Record Books (verified 18 July 2026). SteamTicket is exam-style MCQ practice only and does not replace or host those practical logbooks.
